Abstract

The development of information and communication technology has fundamentally transformed organizational work patterns worldwide, particularly following the shift toward hybrid work systems triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic. Hybrid work, which combines office-based and remote activities, offers various advantages, especially in terms of operational efficiency and resource utilization. However, its implementation also presents new challenges, particularly concerning employee psychological well-being, which may be disrupted by intensive technology use and changing workplace dynamics. This study aims to examine in depth how organizations can balance the use of technology to achieve work efficiency while maintaining employee psychological well-being in hybrid work systems. The method employed is a literature review that collects and analyzes scholarly sources, including research journals, textbooks, international organizational reports, and policy documents relevant to the topic. The findings indicate that although technology plays a crucial role in enhancing work efficiency, unmanaged use can lead to psychological stress, mental fatigue, and reduced employee well-being. The main conclusion of this study is that balance between technological efficiency and psychological well-being can be achieved through appropriate policies, human-centered work system design, and technology utilization oriented toward employee needs. This study contributes to the development of human resource management theory and provides practical guidance for organizations in designing sustainable hybrid work systems.
