Abstract

Early childhood screen time addiction has become an increasingly profound issue in modern society. Parents have a crucial role to play in preventing such addiction and ensuring healthy child development. This study aims to identify the appropriate role of parents in the prevention of early childhood screen time addiction. The type of research used is qualitative research with a case study approach. Qualitative methods were chosen to obtain an overview and describe how the role of parents in preventing gadget addiction in early childhood. The sources of this research consist of two sources, including primary and secondary sources. The findings show that gadget addiction in early childhood can have a negative impact on physical, mental and social aspects. Parents have a vital role to guide their children to use technology wisely and healthily. Through supervision and a positive approach, parents can help prevent the negative impact of gadget addiction on children. By educating children about screen time limits, ensuring that the content accessed is appropriate for their age and maturity level, and encouraging physical activity, creativity and social interaction outside of the digital world, parents can help create a healthy and balanced environment for children.
