Relationship Marketing and Sustainable Brand Loyalty Formation
Keywords:
relationship marketing, brand loyalty, customer trust, affective commitment, lifetime valueAbstract
Relationship marketing shifts organizational focus from individual transactions to long term customer connections that build lasting brand loyalty. This study constructs a theoretical framework defining relationship marketing dimensions and explaining mechanisms of long term loyalty formation. A systematic literature review method was applied following established qualitative research procedures. The framework identifies trust as the fundamental foundation of relationships built through consistent positive interactions and demonstrated integrity. Affective commitment based on emotional attachment rather than calculative considerations generates genuine long term loyalty. Responsive two way communication enables companies to listen and adapt to evolving customer needs. Fair and swift conflict resolution transforms dissatisfied customers into even stronger brand advocates. Customer lifetime value provides the appropriate metric for evaluating long term relationship marketing effectiveness. Ethical personalization enhances perceptions of being uniquely known without violating privacy boundaries. Experience based and recognition based loyalty programs outperform point based discounts in building emotional attachment. Consistent service quality serves as minimum prerequisite before relationship marketing can work effectively. Digital technology integration must strengthen rather than replace human interactions that build relationships. Heterogeneous customer preferences for relationship intensity require segmentation and varied approaches
