Study On Travel Routes and Availability of Transportation in Rewwin Housing Area, Sidoarjo

The large number of residential residents who carry out daily activities causes many travel patterns and travel characteristics. Transportation facilities have a very important role in facilitating the movement of the population. The purpose of this study was to determine the travel characteristics of residents living in Rewwin Sidoarjo Housing and to determine whether the needs of the population for transportation facilities have been met by the transportation service provider. This research uses a descriptive percentage research approach. Data collection techniques used are: observation, questionnaires and documentation with the number of respondents 215 people. Respondents are working residents and belong to the middle economic class. The results showed that respondents who use public transportation services are those who do not have their own vehicle. Respondents who have their own vehicle prefer to use it rather than using transportation with considerations that it is more economical, easier and faster to reach their destination. Users of public transportation services are quite difficult and the time to travel becomes longer because they have to wait for transportation for about 10-15 minutes. Many of them also have to change transportation because the destination is not passed by the route. This shows that public transportation services still do not meet the needs of the population in traveling.
